Mbuyane injury not serious

Mbuyane, who was stretchered off the park in the 53rd minute after receiving a knock on the head from Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet, said although he has no memory of the incident he feels perfectly fine:

“I don’t know what really happened,” said a visibly dazed Mbuyane. “All I remember was attacking the ball in the air to try and get to the end of Terminator’s (Dikgang Mabalane) cross. The next thing I was on the ground surrounded by members of the medical team.”

He added: “Thank God I’m fine now and it wasn’t too serious."

Mbuyane will be examined again by the medical staff before being given the green light to join the rest of the team in Monday’s training session as the Mighty Buccaneers prepare for their home fixture against Amazulu on Wednesday.

Bucs have failed to win a game in their last three league encounters and will need to start firing the goals in if they are to cement their position in the top eight.

Orlando Pirates have never finished lower than fifth position in the history of the Premier Soccer League (since 1996), and Rudolf Krol and his charges will be well aware of this distinct record.
